Why pray when God knows all?
Why are we commanded to pray without ceasing? - line up with God always
What does it mean to pray "in Jesus' Name"? - what Jesus desires, not ours
How is the "Lord's (Disciple's) Prayer" to be prayed?
The Pattern:
Our Father - Proclaim and affirm who God is!
who art in heaven - confess the POWER of God!
hallowed be thy Name - believe in the holiness of God!
thy Kingdom come, thy will be done - love the desires of God!
on earth as it is in heaven - we are to live out God's desires!
give us this day our daily bread - ask but be content with basic needs!
forgive our trespasses - claim the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ!
as we forgive those who trespass against us - let go of grudges!
lead us not into temptation - yield to the power of the Holy spirit!
Amen - Trust who God is, the Creator, Provider, ans Sustainer of all!
